How to Get Malfeasance

Hey look, a guide I don’t have to draw a bunch of pictures for?? Bet, I’m down.

Are you looking to get your hands on the next Destiny 2: Forsaken exotic gun, the Malfeasance? Well, good luck kid; you’re gonna need it. This sucker is a fun RNG grind in Gambit. Here’s your quick and simple guide to get that nasty weapon that looks like it belongs on Batman’s belt.

Step 1: Grind Gambit

• Hello, darkness my old friend. I bet Shaxx never let you do that! Get in there and play Gambit for 18-60 hours! Seriously, you have to run Gambit until a specific Ascendant Servitor Primevil spawns. This looks like the Riven boss from the main campaign. You have to kill the Ascendant Servitor Primevil too, simply getting it to spawn won’t work. Once you have killed your Primevil you will get The Seething Heart.
• I have heard that on the week that the Taken blight has corrupted the Dreaming City the most there is a higher chance for the Ascendant Servitor Primevil to spawn, but I have not seen this 100% confirmed. So this is a speculative note.

Gambit Tips: Get a team, seriously solo queing is only good for QQing.

Gambit Tips: BANK YOUR MOTES, don’t worry if you don’t have 15 motes stacked, just bank them!

Gambit Tips: After every wave of enemies circle back to the bank to clear the Taken. That way your team always has a safe bank and you are all moving together.

Gambit Tips: Assign an Invader if your team isn’t all ace PVPers.

Step 2: The Seething Heart

• Go to the Drifter, you did it you SOB. You are luckier than me. You have most likely played Gambit for 300+ hours and deserve the Malfeasance for your hard work! While I think you do… Bungie still thinks you need to be more of a try hard, so keep following along as the Drifter gives you the next part of the quest.

Step 3: City of Secrets

• 25 Taken Major/Boss kills, these have to be big-ole baddies, regular Taken don’t count. You can get these kills quickest when the Enemy Moves Against Each Other, this happens on the Dreaming City. Other routes are the Blind Well, Events, Taken Strikes, Etc.

Step 4: The Corrupted

• You know that super duper fun new Strike? Now you get to do it as a mission! Gather up a fireteam. You’ll need all the help you can get ’cause this mission is Power Level 580.

Step 5: Depleted Weapon Core

• Visit everyone’s favorite fast-talking smuggler, then after you have visited Han Solo (the OT Harrison Ford) go talk to the Drifter. He’ll tell you to keep up business as usual, which is keyword for do more shit.

Step 6: Business as Usual

• 500 Motes Deposited, 10 Gambit Wins.
• Think this is easy? JOKES ON YOU. Every mote you lose counts as -2. So biggest tip is like I said before bank your motes as often as you can! Go for 5 and 10 stacks, not 15. If you lose 5 motes, you have to get 10 motes deposited just to break even! Good luck buddy, glad you love Gambit so much 😀

Step 7: Lights Out

• Kill 25 Guardians in Gambit, kill 4 Guardians as an Invader in a single instance – or someone on your team kills 4 Guardians as an invader in one instance 3x’s.
• Literally pay someone to do this for you.
• JK, but either use your faves sniper or get a good friend to come in and do this 3x’s if you’re not good. To be completely honest, I’ve seen this happen before while I was solo queing so it is possible. If you play enough Gambit you’ll have an ally do this 3 times.
• GET SWEATY – If you don’t want to wait for someone else to do this you best gird up your loins and polish your Sleeper then go for the win!

Step 8: Dark Weapon Core

• Hit up the Drifter, you done did it. 

Step 9: PROFIT

• This crazy nasty Taken weapon is yours! You got it! The Malfeasance!
• No more to say other than you did it. Seriously, go walk the dog, go outside. Do you live by a beach? You need some beach yoga or something. I’m sure that you have early-onset Carpal Tunnel Syndome for the 700+ hours of Gambit you just did, so order a wrist-guard off Amazon or some shit.
